The biggest OTT release this week (October 19–25, 2026) is a strong South Indian double: Nani’s The Paradise and Karthik Subbaraj’s Dorothy, both on Netflix. Manoj Bajpayee’s Gajab Raat, Prime Video’s Chaar Yaar and ZEE5’s Sumo Didi lead the Hindi slate on Friday, October 23.

This page is TBA Daily’s weekly guide to every OTT release this week in India. We rebuild it every week with the same structure: a day-by-day table first, then platform and language breakdowns, then our honest picks.

Every title below has a date and platform confirmed by an official post or a reliable Indian outlet. Where only one outlet reports a title, we mark it “Expected”. Availability is for India as of October 2026, so always confirm inside the app before you plan your evening.

Key takeaways

  • Netflix owns the week with The Paradise (Oct 22), Dorothy and Gajab Raat (both Oct 23), plus Nobody Wants This Season 3 and Lupin Part 4.
  • Friday, October 23 is the big drop day, with nine new titles across Netflix, Prime Video, ZEE5, JioHotstar and Lionsgate Play.

Top picks: why watch each OTT release this week

A long OTT release this week list is useful, but you still have to choose. So here are the ten titles our desk would actually clear an evening for, with honest reasons.

1. Dorothy (Netflix, October 23)

Karthik Subbaraj’s tenth film is set in rural Madurai in 1995. Two childhood friends, played by Sananth and Rishikanth, drift apart after Dorothy (Keerthy Suresh) enters their lives. Caste violence and toxic masculinity sit at the centre of the story.

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and carries an Ilaiyaraaja score. It has an A certificate, however, so watch it after the kids are asleep. It streams in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

2. Gajab Raat (Netflix, October 23)

Manoj Bajpayee plays a police officer torn between personal gain and doing the right thing, all over a single night. Neeraj Pandey produces through Friday Film Works, and writer Ritesh Shah makes his directorial debut.

The film was earlier titled Ghooskhor Pandat and was renamed after criticism of that title. Saqib Saleem, Akshay Oberoi, Divya Dutta, Kiku Sharda and Nushrratt Bharuccha co-star. Netflix’s official Gajab Raat announcement has the full details.

3. The Paradise (Netflix, October 22)

Srikanth Odela, who made Dasara with Nani, reunites with the actor for this violent 1980s Secunderabad drama. Nani plays a man who rises to lead a marginalised community, with Mohan Babu as the antagonist. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music.

It reportedly gave Nani the biggest opening day of his career, though reviews were mixed. If you skipped it in theatres, it is worth a look for the performances alone.

4. Chaar Yaar (Prime Video, October 23)

Set in early-2000s Mumbai, this eight-episode crime drama follows four friends who get pulled into the underworld after one desperate decision. Purav Jha, Naman Jain, Saqib Ayub and Prayrak Mehta lead.

Vinay Waikul directs, and S Hussain Zaidi is among the creators. The supporting cast, including Sai Tamhankar, Sikandar Kher and Chunky Panday, is the real draw.

5. Nobody Wants This Season 3 (Netflix, October 22)

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody return as Joanne and Noah, who now move in together. All ten episodes drop at once. Poorna Jagannathan appears as a guest star, which is a nice touch for Indian viewers.

It is the lightest OTT release this week, and episodes are short. Therefore, it is ideal for a weeknight when you want comfort, not tension.

6. The Terminal List Season 2 (Prime Video, October 21)

Chris Pratt returns in the action thriller based on Jack Carr’s novels. The first season arrived in 2022, so this is a long-awaited follow-up. Amazon’s Terminal List Season 2 announcement confirms the October 21 date.

Expect grim, revenge-driven action rather than Marvel-style fun. Fans of Reacher will feel at home.

7. Sumo Didi (ZEE5, October 23)

Jayant Rohatgi’s film is based on Hetal Dave, described as India’s first professional female sumo wrestler. Shriyam Bhagnani plays her, and the film was shot in Japan and Kolkata.

It had its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival. As a result, it arrives on ZEE5 with more pedigree than most direct-to-OTT sports dramas.

8. Sattamum Needhiyum Season 2 (ZEE5, October 23)

Saravanan returns as the timid lawyer from Season 1, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar joins in a key role. Balaji Selvaraj directs a new case with higher stakes.

If you like courtroom drama without melodrama, this is the Tamil OTT release this week for you.

9. Varam (JioHotstar, October 22)

A poor slum dweller receives a mysterious boon that changes his fate, and he tries to cash in. Vishwadev Rachakonda, Shivathmika Rajasekhar and Srinivas Avasarala star, with Aditya Mandala directing.

The premise is playful, but the trailer hints at darker consequences. It is a good pick for Telugu viewers who want something new rather than another action film.

10. Lupin Part 4 (Netflix, October 23)

Omar Sy is back as gentleman thief Assane Diop in the French hit. It is one of Netflix’s best-known French originals, and the earlier parts are easy to catch up on.

If you have not started, begin with Part 1. The heists are fun, but the father-son story is what keeps you hooked.

Honourable mentions in the OTT release this week list

  • The Legend of Hanuman Season 7 (JioHotstar): the war for Lanka reaches a turning point as Hanuman searches for a weapon to defeat Ravana. Sharad Kelkar returns as a voice.
  • Koffee With Karan Season 9, Episode 2 (JioHotstar): India TV reports Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna as guests, streaming October 21 at 7 pm.
  • Naa Wife Missing (Aha): Varun Sandesh and Shweta Basu Prasad in a crime thriller about a missing wife and a suspected husband.
  • Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 (Netflix): the return of the stylish anime set in Night City.
  • Final Table (Prime Video, Expected): Ahn Hyo-seop plays a chef in a 12-episode K-drama set around a global cooking contest.

OTT release this week by language

Many Indian viewers choose an OTT release this week by language first. So here is the week organised that way, counting originals and confirmed dubs.

Best OTT release this week for each language
Language Originals this week Also available dubbed Our pick
Hindi Gajab Raat, Chaar Yaar, Sumo Didi, The Legend of Hanuman S7, Koffee With Karan Ep 2 The Paradise, Dorothy Gajab Raat
Tamil Dorothy, Sattamum Needhiyum S2 The Paradise, Naa Wife Missing Dorothy
Telugu The Paradise, Varam, Naa Wife Missing Dorothy The Paradise
Malayalam None confirmed The Paradise, Dorothy, The Legend of Hanuman S7 Dorothy (Malayalam dub)
Kannada None confirmed The Paradise, Dorothy The Paradise (Kannada dub)
English Nobody Wants This S3, The Terminal List S2 Lupin Part 4 (French original) Nobody Wants This S3
Korean Final Table (Expected), Love in Disguise (Expected) Ongoing: 100 Days of Deception (Netflix) Final Table
Punjabi Sippiyan Sitaare Not applicable Sippiyan Sitaare

Hindi and Tamil are the strongest languages in the OTT release this week calendar. Meanwhile, Malayalam and Kannada viewers rely on dubs, since no original premiere was confirmed for either.

K-drama fans should note that both Korean titles are marked Expected for India. However, Netflix’s 100 Days of Deception continues with new weekend episodes as a safe fallback.

How do OTT release timings work in India?

Knowing the clock helps you catch each OTT release this week without refreshing an app at the wrong hour. The rules are not official, but the patterns are consistent.

Midnight IST drops for Indian titles

Most Indian films and series go live around 12 midnight IST on the listed date. So a Friday release like Gajab Raat or Dorothy is often watchable late on Thursday night. Some apps stagger by a few hours, though.

Global originals follow US timings

International originals usually launch at a fixed US time worldwide. As a result, shows like Nobody Wants This or The Terminal List often reach India in the afternoon or early morning IST rather than at midnight.

The theatre-to-OTT window

Indian films typically reach streaming about four to eight weeks after release in cinemas. This week fits that pattern neatly. The Paradise opened on September 24 and streams from October 22, while Dorothy opened on September 25 and streams from October 23. Both took exactly four weeks.

Meanwhile, last week’s big theatrical releases, such as Jailer 2 and Ranabaali, are still in cinemas only. Going by the usual window, they are unlikely to stream before mid-November.

Dubbed versions and staggered audio

Big South Indian films now commonly launch in five languages on day one, as The Paradise and Dorothy do. However, a dubbed track can occasionally appear later than the original. If your language is missing, check the audio menu again after a few hours.

Weekly episodes versus full drops

Netflix usually drops a whole season at once, as with Nobody Wants This. In contrast, talk shows like Koffee With Karan release one episode a week, and Korean dramas usually follow their TV broadcast schedule.

How to check the release date of any OTT title

Dates move, sometimes the night before. Here is the routine our desk uses to verify every OTT release this week before it goes on this page.

  1. Check the platform’s own app. Search the title inside Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, ZEE5 or SonyLIV. A “Coming soon” tile with a date and a “Remind me” button is the most reliable signal.
  2. Look at the official social handles. Platforms announce dates with posters on Instagram and X. Also check the production house and lead actors, who usually share the same post.
  3. Use JustWatch India. Search the title on JustWatch India to see which legal app streams it, and whether it is included in your subscription or rental only.
  4. Cross-check with two news outlets. If only one website reports a date, treat it as “Expected”. Wait for an official post or a second reliable report.
  5. Confirm the language tracks. Open the title page on release day and check the audio menu. Dubs are listed there, not always in the announcement.
Quick reference: where to verify an OTT release this week
What you need Best source Reliability
Exact date Platform app “Coming soon” page Highest
Announcement and trailer Official platform social posts and press pages High
Which app has it JustWatch India High
Dubbed languages Title page audio menu High on release day
Rumoured dates Single news reports Low until confirmed

How we picked: our method for the OTT release this week guide

We do not copy press lists. Instead, every OTT release this week appears here only after we match the date and platform across at least two sources. Official platform posts come first, then established Indian entertainment desks.

Then we rank picks on four things: director and cast track record, reviews from the theatrical or festival run, language reach, and how well the title suits a weekday or weekend watch. We also flag adult or violent content, because many readers watch with family.

Common mistakes to avoid with any OTT release this week

  • Trusting the US date blindly. A Hollywood or Korean title may arrive in India on a different date, or on a different app.
  • Assuming a theatre hit is on OTT already. Jailer 2 and Ranabaali are still theatrical-only this week.
  • Ignoring certificates. Dorothy carries an A certificate, and The Paradise is very violent, so plan family viewing accordingly.
  • Using unofficial sites. Stick to legal platforms. They carry proper audio, subtitles and quality, and they fund the people who make these films.
